Ahmedabad: Retina and uvea specialists came together on 19 July 2026 for the inaugural meeting of the Retina & Uvea Special Interest Group (RUSIG) – Ahmedabad, marking the launch of a dedicated academic platform for collaborative learning and clinical discussions in ophthalmology.

The meeting featured a series of case-based academic sessions on challenging retinal and uveitis conditions, with presentations by leading ophthalmologists covering topics such as rhegmatogenous retinal detachment, uveitis, retinal vascular disorders, retinal detachment management, and segmental scleral buckling. Interactive discussions and expert panel deliberations encouraged the exchange of practical insights and evidence-based approaches to patient care.

Organisers said the initiative was conceived to create a focused forum where retina and uvea specialists can regularly share experiences, discuss complex cases, and strengthen clinical decision-making through peer learning. The inaugural session witnessed active participation from presenters, panelists, and delegates, laying the foundation for an ongoing academic collaboration.
