Bengaluru: Prof. Dr. Rohit Shetty, Director of Narayana Nethralaya, has been conferred the SN Alumni Oration Award by the Sankara Nethralaya Alumni Association, recognising his outstanding contributions to ophthalmology, clinical research, and innovation in eye care.

An internationally acclaimed ophthalmologist, refractive surgeon, and clinician-scientist, Prof. Dr. Shetty has played a key role in advancing ophthalmic research by integrating advanced imaging, molecular biology, biomechanics, artificial intelligence, and precision medicine into clinical practice. His work has contributed significantly to the management of corneal diseases, refractive surgery, ocular surface disorders, myopia, regenerative medicine, and gene therapy.

The award acknowledges his continued efforts in translating scientific research into improved patient outcomes while promoting innovation in ophthalmology.
