New Delhi: The Organisation of Pharmaceutical Producers of India (OPPI), a representative of multinational drugmakers in India has partnered with the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research, Raebareli (NIPER-R), to support and promote outcome-oriented drug research.

The industry body will award gold and silver scholarships to two meritorious research scholars as research grants to support ongoing projects that demonstrate strong potential to address real-world healthcare challenges.

Selection of scholars will be undertaken by an expert panel, which will evaluate applications based on the quality, relevance, and translational impact of the research work.

In addition to this, subject-matter experts from OPPI member companies will undertake curated knowledge sessions, workshops, and mentorship engagements for students to share real-world insights and equip students with the practical understanding.

"India stands at a pivotal moment in its journey to become a global hub for pharmaceutical innovation. To realize this ambition, we must invest not just in infrastructure, but in ideas—and the young minds that power them,” said Anil Matai, Director General, OPPI.

“This collaboration with OPPI marks an important step in strengthening the bridge between academia and industry. This initiative will enhance the quality, relevance, and impact of research undertaken at our institute,” Shubhini Saraf, Director NIPER-R added.
