Adipur: In a significant milestone for advanced cardiac care in the Kutch region, Divine Life Hospital, Adipur, has successfully performed what is being described as the first Bentall procedure in Kutch. The complex cardiothoracic surgery was carried out by Dr K. Bhardawaj, Consultant Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgeon (CTVS), on a 55-year-old male patient.

The Bentall procedure is a highly specialized cardiac operation performed to treat complex diseases affecting the aortic root and aortic valve.

In this case, the surgery involved replacing the diseased aortic root and aortic valve using a 23 mm Meril Aortic Valve along with a 28 mm vascular graft, an established surgical approach for managing selected complex aortic root pathologies.

The operation was performed by the cardiothoracic surgical team at Divine Life Hospital using contemporary prosthetic valve and vascular graft technology to reconstruct the aortic root and restore normal blood flow.
